I think my fuel pump died, and nobody has one in stock. So I am going to try an electric pump. I want to wire it through an oil pressure switch, but I don't know which one to buy. Can I splice into the factory sending unit for the idiot light? If not, can someone give me a part number for another oil pressure switch that I can use without too much trouble?
Thanks.
Reed go wire up to Ford `G' switch its a better way. Go to bone yard any injected Ford will have 1. Fred :)
OK. Now I have to find out what a G switch is and what it looks like/where it is located. :P
Black plastic switch with large red reset button, most are mounted lft or rt kick panel some in trunk, if I have a loose 1 I will get you picture. Fred
Thanks Fred! However, I might not need it. I followed apintonuts advice and blew some compressed air back through the fuel line to clear any clogs. I heard a loud POP and then the air flowed freely. The pump then worked but the carb flooded out. So now I have to go back and reset the float level. Anyway, it looks like I won't be installing an electric pump after all. ::)
