I have a 1971 Pinto with a 2000cc motor and a C4.
Can anyone tell me what other year and motor size parts will interchange with mine? Such as what parts are common between the 2000cc and the 2300 cc motors, if any? What about body parts? Are there any known incompatibilities between the years in things like seat rails, underdash HVAC stuff, seats, etc...?
Thanks!

None that I know of, except there is a 'workaround' to use the bellhousing from a 2.3 (2300cc)

What about body parts?
Headlight surrounds are specific to the 71. Not sure if this made a difference in the front fenders. Doors should be the same throughout the years (71-80) but have minor differences in the hinges and the latch/release mechanisms. Also, regarding doors, the sedan/hatch doors are different than the wagon doors. AFAIK, the sedan trunk lids never changed. There are a few minor differences throughout the years in the rear hatches, both on the wagons and the hatchbacks, and that is not including the three major differences in the hatchbacks (half hatch, full hatch, all glass hatch) I am sure I have missed some things and I would hope my fellow FP folks will correct/add to this.

I do know there is a big difference in the front floor (including where the seat rails mount) on the passenger side due to the catalytic converter introduced in '75? I think?? HVAC stuff appears to be the same, I have a '73 with A/C and it looks to be identical to the donor stuff I pulled out of a wrecked '75. There are a couple of different styles of seats, most notably the high back bucket and the low back bucket with headrest. I never tried changing out styles of seats, and the only ones I have replaced were in a '78 and the donor was an '80.

Thanks!
You are quite welcome, and good luck with your project!

Thanks! That is VERY helpful! I have a 71 with a solid body but trashed heater box, incorrect seats, and a broken frame rail. I am trying to convert it to A/C and get at least the correct seat rails. I plan on making a trip over to apintonuts house and seeing if he has parts that can help me, so knowing what will interchage with a 71 is VERY useful.
