Title: heater plumbing question

On Pintos with factory AC, there is a dashpot controlled heater valve. So does the arrow on this valve point towards the hose to the core or to the hose to the engine? Thanks!

IIRC, the arrow points to the heater core, they want to stop hot water from reaching the core.
