Title: Where are all the Pintos?
Post by: powderblue76 on September 02, 2008, 11:09:01 AM
I want to get another Pinto as a slow burn project, maybe to put a 4.6 in, but all the Pintos I see are NOT in my area.
Is this a conspiricy to keep me sad and Pinto-less?  :(
Nothing in the NE Texas area, again, it must be a conspiricy.

Powderblure:

Where are you at in NE Texas? I am near Dallas. I found my wagon in East Texas (near Tyler), there seems to be slim pickens otherwise. They pop up from time to time, but not often. Mine was an all original '76 wagon - still has the original exhaust system (and muffler!) on it. It's in the middle of restoring right now.

Still a few putting around Albuquerque, I saw a yellow wagon about a month ago cruising, A really nice two tone blue 79 or 80 hatchback last week, there was one on craigslist about two weeks ago for $600, wish I hadn't blown all my money on other toys :(

I spotted a tan pre-'74 in Waynesboro, VA Monday afternoon.  Appeared to have a little rust in the quarters but not too bad.  Hood was missing.  It was sitting at an old abandoned service station/garage.  Have no idea why it was there or who it belongs to and didn't have time to stop and check it out more closely.  I'm going to try to get back by there sometime this week and see if it's still there.  Depending on exactly what it is, it could make a good parts car for my '72.

Hey Dwayne, I've been all over W'boro and didn't see that pinto before. Wonder where it came from? A friend of mine called a few weeks ago and said after seeing my Pinto he dug out his '73 to start on a V8 swap. Wonder if that's his? Let me know what you find out, and if you buy it and need it towed I will do it a lot cheaper than a wrecker service!!

Hey Jimmy!
My wife has been really sick for the past week and I simply haven't had time to check into it.  My buddy Charlie drove past it a day or two ago and says the hood is back on it now.  Will let you know if I find out anything more.

Sorry all,
Haven't had time to even think about looking for a Pinto.
Prolly will be springtime before I can start to think about it again.
I have a Harley with a downed tranny  >:( , a '39 Chevy to streetrod  ;D, an 8N tractor to tuneup/overhaul and a few other things to get done  ???.
Growing up is SO much fun.
Blessings,
Mike

Mike:

  Recent Texas listings:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/882201338.html - 1975 wagon in Van Zandt County

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/888479703.html - converted 72 panel wagon in Balch Springs

...and there was another two door hatch in Mansfield, year unknown, $400, listed this week (but I can't find listing).

Why wait until Spring?
