yes I know another question. But the daughter is on a limited budget. As you know her v6 took a crap, I installed a 2.3 and I'm finishing the swap but running into a few problems. The radiator was just rebuilt just before she blew the motor that's why i would like to keep it. The problem is the lower neck is on the drivers side and the water pump is on the pass side. Anyone know of a hose to use, I tried the flex hose route but none are long enough with 1 1/4" on one end and 1 1/2" on the other. Anyone here done this swap before...or I guess if someone needs a V6 Mustang II radiator w/ac, I'll swap for a 4 cylinder unit with a/c in the same shape.
You will probably have to use a short rubber hose elbow coming off the radiator and connect that to a staright metal pipe going in the direction of the other side of the engine and reconect it back to a second elbow pipe. I've done this before running a Pontiac Fiero aluminum radiator in my last Pinto and it works great.
does it have to be copper pipe ? thanks for the info
Nope. Mine was even chrome plated, probably came from someones sink or something. Just remember to flare the ends just a bit so the hoses won't come off too easily.
thanks Jim, I like cheap...here's what I put together...it might not be a Pinto, but cool still

And spanking some imports

Ahh what great memories, built a hot 1914 once, only had one kill and that was of a late 80's GTA Trans Am before some importer made an offer for the car that my friend couldn't refuse.
I used a piece of exhaust pipe when I did the engine swap in my truck 11 years ago,.. still has the same pipe, and the same hose. I drive it everyday. Nice work on the VW.

You can also have any radiator shop fill one outlet and put the correct size on the other side and eliminate all of the plumbing.
well after looking at every avenue I called a radiator shop, Gordie you were right, I got the upper and lower outlets moved for $68. Not too bad thanks guys
