Title: Instrument Panel Lights

I got a 1972 Pinto. How exactly do i get to the instrument panel light? and how many do i have in there? i think only one is working

Reach under the dash and unhook the speedo cable. Remove two screws at the top part of the cluster, tilt it forward and lift up, there are two metal tabs that hold the bottom in place. Unhook the connector and it will come out. I think there are four bulbs but do yourself a favor and replace all of them while you have it out! Also you can take a scotchbrite pad and clean the printed circuit contact points and the little socket terminals.

Good advice. These instrument clusters are notorious for developing oxidized connections on the circuit contacts, let alone breakage of the white plastic housing unit itself. Good luck with it.

PS - instead of a scotchbrite pad you can also use a fine sandpaper - 240 to 400 grit to clean the contacts
