Title: I have a leak..
Post by: Smurfette on August 27, 2008, 07:48:30 PM
I seem to have a leak somewhere under my dash. We have been getting the aftermath of Fay and I've noticed water dripping into my front, passenger floorboard but I can't seem to find where it's coming from exactly and I'm not really sure how to go about it. Any advice?

Wash all the leaves and dirt from your cowl vent with hose and or pressure washer, there maybe stuff blocking the drain holes...on the left and right side`s...if you can get someone to look as you wash they may see where it`s comeing from..inside..  If it still leaks after you clean it out, you may have some rusted out areas around the heater fresh air intake hopefuly this is not the problem .... let us know how it turns out,, search (cowel vents) as well there is some good posts there too!!!For now cover the cowel vent with plastic and green masking tape ,to keep the water out, If you leave the car outside...you can also drive it like that when its raining ,that but keep in mind you`ll have no fresh air intake so you`ll have to crack the windows sometimes...but heater and defrost will still work....Good Luck and keep us all updated       oh and  when your washing  out the cowel vents if you see no water dripping inside it maybe your heater core leaking......Note to all keep the Fall leaves out of your cowel vents and keep them clean.......an dont park under the tree

I was tracking down leaks on my wagon this past weekend.  My leak was coming from the pass side wiper post.  I have my interior gutted making it somewhat easy to track the source of the leak.  Good luck to you
