Title: Pinto drifting
Post by: kdda191 on August 25, 2008, 07:06:15 PM
So after 8 years of demo derby (mostly M2's Pinto wagons & Fairmonts) I have decided to retire from demo. I have a decent 72 wagon left, and I like to be different from everybody else. I have been researching our local drifting scene and know of 3 tracks that do it. I was wondering if anybody has ever drifted a Pinto wagon? I have demo and figure 8'd a ton in a wagon, and know exactly how they drive. I would have streeted the 1 owner 78000 og mile car, but I got it from a friend who bought it at an estate sale and parted it out. It was super clean. I have all reciepts and doucuments that says its really a 78000 mile car....grrrr. Sooo, Instead of smashing it, I couldnt see myself doing that to such a clean car, I decieded to drift it. It is gonna stay alive and titled. Ill even register it on here when I get a chance. I just wondered if anybody has drifted or seen a Pinto wagon drifted.

Thanks
Dan

:hypno: If that has been done before, I would be thoroughly surprised. It would be awesome to out drift a bunch of riced out honda civics in an old exploding commuter car.

I have seen a pinto drifted as well as a bobcat both wagons,  its alot of fun, we have a parking lot out here where the owner doesnt mind you doing it and the cops say nothing. I would do it again in a heartbeat when i get my bobcat back on the road. if you know how to finesse your car once you get the rear to break loose you can hold pretty good drifts

Thats all very good to hear!!!! Im pretty excited to take on this project. I would love to whoop a 280Z's butt in a PINTO WAGON!!!!!!! :showback:

Here it is as she sits right now. I had a car roll off my tiltbed trailer into it and mess up the front end....That made me mad. It was 1230am after a demo and I needed to go get another car....Oh well, I have parts!
