My Dad and I are both trying to put v8's in our pintos. He has my '78 wagon now which will get a 289. And I have a '77 hatchback with a 302. For the life of us we can not figure out what the best combo for frame mount/motor mounts to use. Can anybody offer there knowledge so we can get going? The wagon has the frame mounts from a V6. And the HB has the frame mounts for the 4 cylinder. Or does anyone make custom for these applications? Any info is good info. Thanks.
Go to the junkyard and get factory V8 mounts from a Mustang II

Not what I would do. They are too hard to come by, are not REALLY a "direct bolt-in" anyway. I would reccemend modifying the factory frame mounts to use CHEAP mounts for a 60's V8 Stang.

Use 1966 ford mustang engine mounts they will bolt right in
66 mustang Frame mount/motor mounts bolt directly no problems?

NO!
MY POINT: you have to modify something somewhere anyway, so why use expensive parts that are hard to find?
Bill
True.
