Mr. Pintony has informed me that the Pinto dash is removable. Wow, news to me. He also suggested that he saw a recent photo of someone's dash removed.
I am bringing this out to "General Talk" since it should get good exposure.
1) Has anyone else done this?
2) Do you have a photo?
I'm stoked if this is true, because I want to do it. It would make my restoration process far more thorough.
Chris
i can tell you how
OK great do you want me to phone you, or can you describe the process here? If it's easier to talk, let me know.
Chris
Pintony:
Where can I get a COPY of that? I will happily pay postage to borrow that, with your permission, and make a copy for myself. It's too small here to be of use, and would be very helpful for my needs. Let me know, thanks!
Chris
Thanks for being so helpful. I am sending you a PM now.
Chris
Hey Pintony and popbumper:
I can send popbumper a high quailty PDF attached to an e-mail of the
figures and he can print them out and save you a few nickels (postage, etc) if you wish.

Thanks
Hello:
I have sent the PDFs out to popbumper and rear ended. Let me know if
you received them and if they are what you are looking for.
Pintony:
Yup, the Ford Master Catalog on the CD is a MUST if you are restoring
your Pinto. I have found it to be a real time saver.

Received!! THanks!! So how does one go about obtaining this Master catalog CD, and where?
Chris
Hey popbumper:
You can get the CD at eBay for $22.95 plus $4.00 shipping. Here is the link:

Just ordered one, thanks!
Chris
I've had one of those for a while.
But what I'm wondering is how the **** you find anything in there?
Outside of by accident?
Hey dholvrsn:
This is how I use the CD Ford Master Catalog. Let's say I want information on the air cleaner for a 1977 Pinto.
I go first to the PDF catalog "B" and open it. Then I go to the "Section 90 Index" and I see
that the air cleaner is listed for the 1977 Pinto in section 96 on page 25. I click on section 96 and
go to page 25. The figure on page 25 shows all the parts and the associated part numbers. Let's say
I am interested in part 9A626 on the figure (top of page). Now I open PDF catalog "A" and go to section 96 and find
part number 9A626, It happens to be on page 28 of this section. As you can see the part is
called the "Duct and Valve Assy." and the part number for a 1977 Pinto "L" (2.3L) is E0FZ 9A626-A.
Hope this example helps.

Thanks,
I got the PDF files, Nice.

Someone was asking about pictures of a dash out of car. Well, these ain't exactly recent photos, but since it's sitting on two sawhorses, I think you would be hard pressed to find a dash that was more out of car than this one:

That was me asking about it - GOTTA-LOVE-THOSE-PICS.....if all goes well, you'll see mine out within a few short weeks....
Chris
I see the much bigger gauges. Is that a larger heater you will also be installling in the background?
Tom
