Title: Yet another Hatchback specific question - Latch or weatherstripping
Post by: russosborne on August 12, 2008, 01:09:00 AM
I am trying to figure out if my weatherstripping needs replaced or if the latch is adjustable, both, or something else.
I can push/pull on the hatch just above the key hole, and there is maybe an 1/8 or a 1/4 inch or so of movement up and down. I also hear a whistle (air leaking) from that area when driving with the windows rolled up.
So is it the weatherstripping, an adjustment I can make, or maybe even my latch going bad?
Thanks,
Russ

Just be sure you do not adjust it TOO tight. If it is too tight, you will have to slam the hatch to get it to close, and ask me why slamming a large piece of safety glass is not exactly the best idea...

Thanks to both.
Yeah, I can imagine. Little bits of glass all over. Not a good thing.
