well i had a posting in the WANT ADS for a while and no luck finding a 2.0 flywheel. in my latest post i was just asking for a casting Number or date because i found a guy who definitely has one from a 1600 and several other'unknown' ford flywheels just laying. anyone have a parts cross reference to know if the one from a 1600 will work? got a casting number for me for correct 2.0 flywheel. I followed a lead a non-memeber gave me at Carlisle to a boneyard in Jersey with a 'few ' pintos in it. the guy has acres of old cars but only found two pints and were rough to say the least . after a nasty wasp sting on the ear and several hours of searching rust piles, yep just piles of rust that used to be something? I had no luck, but found a pile of flywheels??? many fords in the pile and the guy knew what a 2.0 was and said he had scrapped a few. why he saved flywheels only i have no idea but there are a lot of things in this boneyard that don't make sense. Give me some needed help here before i commit to buying a $200 aftermarket flywheel. thanx , crossy
1600 is not the same, uses a 7-1/2" clutch. I have one for a 2.0, will need to be resurfaced, kinda heavy so shipping could be high? where are you located? BTW, I have an aluminum flywheel/press plate/clutch assy on e-bay right now if you are interested. more of a racing set-up though.
i HEARD that u should look at ford fiesta when looking for 1600 parts i think it was in another thread so u may want to :search: for it
that list would be nice to post
this thread is for a 2.0 interchange NOT a 1600. Pintoracer since i am only in NJ at 08070 please give me a quote ASAP at dbcrossy@verizon.net and use 'PINTO FLYWHEEL' as the subject line. when stuff winds up in my spam box it tends to get lost from me for a day or two just like this thread reply did. my understanding is that lightweight stuff does not work well on daily drivers with street gearing so i would be interested in a stocker. thanx crossy
Will do, I need to look for it in the barn but I saw one not to long ago. By this weekend for sure.
