hi, i found out that a ford bronco II and ranger lower valence will basically bolt onto my 71 pinto. I'm sure i'm not the first to discove this but just wanted to show every one.
yeah i think just the 80s modles
its the easyiest thing i have ever done
all i did was took off my lower metal gaurd there is like four bolts
then i just lined up the valence with the metel it is the same size so i drilled holes in the metel to put the bolts threw. and thats it no big mods at all.
to only thing you ight have to do is trim where it is in your wheel well depending on your tires size but that would take like one minute
all in all it prob took less ten thirty minutes.
oh and after i was all done i spraid tire cleaning foam all over it and when it came off it looked better then new.
if you want after work i'll post better pics.
I think he's talking about the air dam, and not the valence. The valence doesn't come near the wheel openings.
yeah i guess that is what it could be called but still it is really cool.
it is the little black plastic part circled in the pic.
ok i found the part brand new on LMC trucks web site for 29.95.
it is part number 50-9050.
the mounting hardware i used is only 5 dollars so its kinda worth it.
the air deflector is number two one the diagram and here is a link to the site.

I'm going to the salvage yard tomorrow and picking one up. I wonder how it'll look on my 78 Sedan!

I'm curious too.... for a 1980.
good i'm glad people liked my finding.if you do take it from a salvage yard take the screws they work great and clening them is sooo easy.
Well I went out to "the yard" today and found one in good shape (along with like 15 others still out there!) and installed it today.
The big aluminum bumpers kind of throw it off though, since the air dam is shorter than the bumper. This would be the same case for an 80 or 79 Pinto, since the bumper wraps around the front of the car a little on each side.
I'm still deciding if I like it or not. I do know that I like the fact that it hides the ugly radiator support though!
Here' some pictures...
No problem Pintony!
There was a dust storm brewing up while I took those pictures. They didn't turn out as clear as I had hoped, but they show what it looks like.
I will try to snap some better shots tomorrow, as how it is mounted to the bumper/side rock guards.

Hey Dave, I agree w/Tony... looks good and like you said hides the radiator support. I have a 78 and know how ugly it looks. I have the correct Pinto spoiler for a 77/78 and hope to finally get it installed this weekend. However if I didn't... I would be heading to the junk yard myself... I'm looking for a different look for a front spoiler on the 80 = bigger and more of a wrap-around like the 79/80 Rallye Pinto's...
more pics of the mounting would be great... looks like a great junkyard part useable on our Pinto's
Thanks you guys, glad to her it looks okay.
Cookieboy...could you snap some pictures of that spoiler before and after putting it on, for us? I have never seen the spoiler for the 77-78 Pinto off the car, much less a good picture of it on the car!

sure.... these are the pics I took just before I installed it on my 77 wagon, now it will be on the 78 as the wagon is a project for another day :(
will look and mount the same on hatchbacks/sedans...
Man I keep looking for that same spooiler as kookieboy has.... looks like almost all of them have been eatin parking blocks. I'll end up repairing one I guess.

I see. It appears that it is also shorter than the bumper in length. I do like how it flares towards the front though!
hey how wide is the air dam you found at the junk yard cuz it looks alot smaller then mine or did they widen the pintos after 71?
