Post by: nollid on August 02, 2008, 01:02:32 AM
so far i have buffed, hand waxed, repainted interior, replasted all plastic parts with black nicer plastic, put in a custom shifter, made a console for new CD/gauges/toggles, 2.0 from a 1.6, custom drop down strait pipe, replaced tyranny, rebuilt all brakes, bullet stile mirrors, front valence, new battery, new speakers CD player amp ands subs, repainter exterior trim, have new windshield but have not had it put in yet, had a fiberglass hood scoop and bondowed it in, new black back seat, replaced completely rusted gas tank and bunch of the lines(did this first)

if i can remember anythin else i will try to add it tommorrow and i will also try to take better pics.

Hey that looks just like the shift handle I instaled in daughters 73 41/2 years ago. I call that the man shifter. 1 and 5/16" box instaled at 45deg. due to the Ranger 5 spd. shift is under dash  Fred   ;D :)

hey man i have a 1975 pinto runabout and just wondering how much it cost to get your stereo put in. because i have be wanting to get a cd player put in mine but i don't know how or how much its gonna cost

i got my cd player from checker for about 100 dollars
the amp and speakers i got from wal mart for about 70 dollars
the subs I got from good vibrations for 150
and amp instalation kit from walmart for about 30
the sub boxs i got from walmart for about 40
and probably about twenty dollars in wire and conecters

so all together and this is just a guess about 410
but if you really look i'm sure you could find cheaper

and i have no clue how much it costs to get installed i have always just done it my self.

it is really easy there is usally a good wiring diagram that comes with the cd player.
as long as you have a test light you should be fine.

I always install my own stereos, its not that hard to do.  I have a "small" system Kenwood cd deck,  6 1/2" speakers in the fronk kick panels, 6x8 speakers in the back deck and a 50 watt Rampage amp in the trunk just for the back speakers.  I didn't want to cut up the original bezel so I got an extra console (not a full length one) from u-pull-it, set me back about 5 bucks, cut the top edge off, used a 87-93 mustang install kit from wal-mart (about $15) which is molded for the cd player already, and mounts with 4 screws and is about the same width as the console, then I covered the gap with a piece of wood baseboard moulding that I stained, and mounted an extra Pinto emblem in for a finishing touch
