Title: headliner install
Post by: wedge446 on July 31, 2008, 05:19:16 PM
I`m installing a new headliner in my wagon and can`t find any staples that they use for the sides...
Anyone know where I can find some or is there something different I can use?

On a wagon, must the windshield be removed in order to change out the headliner? I have heard this rumor is TRUE....

On my 75 wagon the windshield had to be removed( i was doing it anyways) The headliner is wrapped around where the windshield gasket goes.. Its also was glued in place..

A word of wisdom keep the car hotter than hell ,,,,,after you got it hung on the wires use a blow dryer on low and put heat under the liner and dont melt it be careful, keep the dryer moving back and forth, best to have a friend here,, ,,,,then glue and pull it tight with no wrinkles,,while its hot and not too tight ,,,,, about 40 percent,,of its pull hot,,,and use a plastic putty knife with the corners rounded so they dont poke through the material to tuck it in.... there`s that floor layer word again......tuck it........................ ha ha ha ha !!!!

Like your choice of words...

"keep the car hotter than hell"...

In Texas, at least right now, that wouldn't be hard. Been between 101 and 105 every day for the last 12 days or so.
