I know this is a topic that has probably been beaten to death, but lets go ahead and beat the horse some more.
Vehicle = 1971 Pinto 2.0 automatic. Motor will be left stock, as will exhaust. No headers, no oversize pipes. I am looking for a quiet sound with low restriction. I don't want a glass pack or anything loud, just a nice quiet muffler that won't restrict flow too much.
Any recopmmendations on what will fit? I believe the exhaust pipe is the original 1.5 inch pipe.
Thanks!
Any brand recommendations or will any turbo muffler do?
Awesome, thanks! I responded to your e-mail too.
So put that under the floor and a turbo mufler in the stock spot? ???
OK. i read your first post too quickly. Yes that under the floor and yes a turbo muffler in the stock spot.
Thanks a million!

Yes!! I can run over people W/O them hearing me comming at an idle.
EXCELLENT! That is my goal, especially crossing guards. They drive me nuts waiving their little stop signs.....
I will do exactly this setup on my Pinto.
I am a HUGE fan of magnaflow mufflers.
Quiet at lower rpm... a little growl at upper... and straight thru design for maximum power.

mufflers sure are expensive these days. guess i should get m y head out of the sand
I agree. I am going to try adding that Dynomax first and see if that doesn't quiet the car down enough for me. If it is still too loud then I will get a new turbo muffler.
