Title: swaping bucket seats from other cars like newer Mustangs???
Post by: russosborne on July 21, 2008, 07:10:11 PM
Is there a link or something here that says what seats will work for the Pintos? Or just any general knowledge?
Thanks,
Russ

Mustang 2s will. And use the search link at the top of the page, That may help.

It would depend on what year the Pinto is.

Well, I tried the search, but either it or me isn't working right. I only got a couple of results. Maybe me.
Thanks,

79 Hatchback. My main concern is the width, Pintos seem pretty narrow, at least to me.

In 1975 a bump was made in the floor on the passenger side of the tunnel to make room for the cat/conv. This makes it very difficult to install anything other than a 75 and later Pinto/Bobcat/Mustang II right seat.

Some people post how they had no problems doing a seat swap, but they fail to mention that it was a PRE 75 car.

Thanks! That was what I was hoping to find out before I started looking.

Also, the tracks can be unbolted from the seat itself, if that helps.

what I did was unbolted the rails off of my pinto seats and drilled the rails off of some canobeer seats...found one hole that lined up to the pinto rail and then drilled and taped out the other hole and bolted them back into my pinto.......

How about Merkur seats?

Or even cut down Merkur consoles around the shifter?
