Title: Engine ID please
Post by: EAdams on August 04, 2004, 12:22:32 AM
I found (2) numbers on the engine.  ANY help is appreciated as I am in the market for a Carb and have to get the right one.  This engine resides in my 1947 Willys CJ2A.  Numbers on the engine are:

711M6015BA
&
681F-6059-A-A

I mainly need the engine spece (1 barrel, 2 barrel?) and the year and model of vehicle it resided in.  I need to get a carborator and have to give the guys at AutoZone a year, model, etc on the engine to get the correct carb.  :)

Thanks

Here's a start: a link I stumbled across some years ago and sent over to the SVOOA site (Corral), which is:

http://home.early.com/~walt/fordpart.htm

It's a "how to" of reading Ford part numbers.  If it doesn't solve your particular problem, it'll surely come in handy for all the other part numbers!  Would make a worthwhile addition to the FAQ page, too.
