Title: what do do for alternator adjustment when deleting power steering
Post by: poomwah on April 21, 2014, 01:41:29 PM
I found three leaks in my power steering system so far, one in the resevoir of the pump, one in one of the lines coming out of the pump, and one where one of the lines meets the cooler.
So, the power steering pump is in the garbage right now. I'm getting ready to make a line to connect the ports on the rack.
But, now that I lost the pump, I have no belt adjustment. I can't find another pinto to grab a non PS alternator bracket from.
I've heard you can use a merkur bracket and relocate the alt to the other side but I can't find one of those either.
Anyone know of anything else I could get the bracket from?  Would a ranger bracket work?

yeah, early 90s ranger brackets put the alt on the passenger side.
