What would be the best 1st overhaul to do?
« on: January 21, 2013, 06:57:43 PM »
1. Body repair & fresh paint.. (I don't mind peeling paint, mismatched panels or rust, not a fan of the rust holes)

2. Engine/Tranny/Rear-End soup-ups.. (I'm okay with stock, but faster Is always fun)

3. Rims & exhaust.. (Steelies and a Muffler are okay, but white letters and boom-tubes are neat)

4. Interior.. (I like the original stuff and don't mind the minor rips, but I also like bare-bones and black seats style)

I've got a '75 Runabout that's re-sprayed dark green from the original pea green. Pea green interior, all stock (For now) with a 2.3 & automatic all-original running gear. I want to do something neat to "The Frog"..but where to start once she's hoppin down the road?
Bought my Pinto in '12, last tagged in '97. Had it on the road (thanks to a $20) spring '14. Tima to tear it apart, fix it correctly this time....and play with the drive train. Got a totally free & complete drive train-engine, 5 speed, drive shaft, and computer!

Wheels are an easy swap at any time.

Engine 1st so you arent leaning on fresh paint working on it. Paint the engine compartment while you're in there, even if it's just spray can black.

Exhaust after engine's done.

Body & paint next.

Interior last
'73 Sedan (I'll get to it)
'76 Wagon driver
'80 hatch(Restoring to be my son's 1st car)~Callisto
'71 half hatch (bucket list Pinto)~Ghost
'72 sedan 5.0/T5~Lemon Squeeze
