Ok, the crusin wagon is about ready to hit the road again, Last year in sept. was hot rodding around and blew a hole in num. 4 piston. Months and months of waiting for new pistons, rings and bearings, and the guy who was rebuilding the head, new cam also, the engine is on the hoist waiting to be dropped in in the next day or so. It depends on how good the salmon are running up the local river. It opens to fish tomorrow, and I addicted to fishin.

  Now the question, with all the multi grades, synthtic oils whats the best option. Or should I stick just to good old 30 weight oil.

Synthetic Promotes a longer engine life, Breaks down a lot less then Conventional motor oil, it just holds up better to the stresses of driving. i personally use Royal purple in performance cars and Valvoline Synthetics in everything else.

I've ran either 30 or 40 weight Valvoline for years. I had a 1991 GMC 1/2 ton with a 4.3 and auto. The truck had 40,000 on it when I bought it. When it was stolen at 260,000 miles after 9 years of owning it, it still used only 1/2 quart of oil between changes and got 19mpg. The block was still clean with no sludge....so as you can see I still use Valvoline today in everything I own.
