As of 1:51AM Saterday morning here in Wichita,Kansas  the price of High test is $3.27 a gallon. I stocked up this morning and paid $3.17. I mean to tell you folks that this is getting scarry. I feel that it would be wise to start watching your fuel tanks because the hose boys are going to be out. I can't begin to comprehend what is around the corner but the fuel prices alone are going to spread the gap real fast and wide between who has and who has not. The best we can do for ourselves is to keep costs down as much as possible and ride this thing out.

I'll bet sevearl of our more "sheltered" Pintos will be out & about now with thier decent MPG. I'm getting in the 25mpg range with a fresh tune up & a small twist of the "lean it out" screw. Maybe I'm lucky, mt '74 will run on ALMOST anything that burns.
That being said Gas has stabilized at 2.99/Gal here for the last 3 days

Gas here in East Tn has dropped back to $2.85/gal The day before the jump it was $2.59 so it's still up $.40. It got as high as $3.45/gal for reg unleaded whoda thunk you'd be putting $20 in a Pinto & NOT filling it up??

We topped off at about $3.55 in southwestern CT.  It's down to 2.99 in some places..but still over 3 bucks for reg at most pumps.  Geez..$10 to fill my motorcycle tank!  That's nuts!

$2.40 average here in san fernando valley, Ca
Remember when we never thought a $2 gallon of gas would be cheap??
sigh, hope it keeps trending down. But i dont ever hope to see it at 1.25 again.  :'(
Since prices near $3 a gallon and higher i figured out a way to get better gas mileage in my 2.0 focus and 2.3 ranger. Drive the speed limit!! LOL  I get near 26 to 27 average in my ranger now vs 20 b4 and 35 average in the focus vs 28 mpg.  ;D

$2.33 for the cheap stuff about an hour and a half ago at Shell in Wilmington, IL.  I don't remember $0.19 a gallon, but I do remember paying $0.72 a gallon before.  Back in the good old days, when $5 could get you a few days driving a beat up, pea green '73 Yacht with a 305 around town.  Now $5 barely gets me an 1/8 of a tank.
