Hi All:
Today was a day straight out of the Twilight Zone for me. I woke up feeling like I ought to call in sick for my co-workers' sakes because I felt as if I was coming down with something. I go anyway. About a mile from my house I'm stopped at a red light and an Oceanside PD motorcycle pulls next to me. Because I'm not first in line I find this a little odd so I look up at him. He smiled... I smiled. Then he asked me how I found that car (Ruby) in such good condition. I told him I was lucky- her previous owner took good care of her. The light changed and away we went. It boosted my day for sure. I went on my assignment, and when I came in for lunch a co-worker came up to me and said, "You'll never believe what happened today." I guessed, "You saw a Pinto..." . He said he didn't, but a California Highway Patrol officer who assists CalTrans with ramp and lane closures (MAZEEP) went apesh!t when he saw Ruby parked in the parking lot. The officer REALLY lost his mind when that co-worker told him my car went to Carlisle and back. Larry did mention the officer was good-looking... ::) So yeah, WHAT A DAY! ;D ;D ;D
