Took the header off
« on: January 03, 2012, 04:08:54 PM »
I took the Hedman header off last week and had the muffler shop put the manifold back on and bend new tube. It's SO nice not having exhaust leaks and oddly enough the (what I thought were) rattles under the dash are gone. Between all the suspension/steering/brake work just done, and it's apparent need for a new starter, it drives like a brand new car! The reseal on the windshield was successful, so I'm thinking it's time for new carpet.
The $64k question is..... my '74 came originally with 80/20 loop pile even though the listings show a '74 with cut pile. I'll be replacing it with the same original color (saddle), so who's got a preference on material?

It's your car and your decision, but my '74 Runabout came new with loop pile carpeting.

I'm undecided about the material because not ONE of my cars has cut pile. I have no idea if vacuuming, cleaning & wear are comparable or not. I have too many old cars apparently.... ..
