It took 2 hours to fix my front bumper. It is so simple. I hate these
fat bumpers. I was laying in bed almost asleep when I had an epiphany.
Just unbolt the bracket, move it back and bolt it back in. I do not know how I knew this would work. I do not remember looking at that bracket ever. Ford made holes the frame that line up just right. somehow I saw all of this in my mind. I got out of bed just to look. I could not sleep after I was sure I was right. I should have done the work right then. I knew I wasn't getting any sleep until I did it. line up the first bolt hole where the second was and tighten it down. The second bolt doesn't have a nut now. There is an oblong hole through the frame just behind where the second bolt is now positioned. I used a stiff piece of wire, hot glued the nut to it. I fished it through the oblong hole, aligned it with the bolt and tightened it down. This should take 30 minutes if not for the bolts holding the bumper to the bracket. You will need to drill and relocate the bottom bolts as they hit on the radiator bracket. The fist hole took 5 minutes to drill. The second hole took 1hour 15 minutes. and four bits. For some reason the metal was much tougher on the right bracket. This is on a 77 bobcat. I would think the pinto would be the same.
Good luck
so look at the photos you will get the idea
