sound like a good deal?

One of my dad's co-workers is selling a 71 runabout that is 99% rust free and has been torn down for racing, but says he has all of the stuff to put back in.  It also comes with a 88 turbo couple 2.3, ECU, and all that and a t5 trans.

He's asking $650 for it.  I don't know if its a good deal or not as I'd like to use the 2.8 HO i'm building, plus the car doesn't have a title I don't think.

I could always sell the 2.3 and If i can't put it on the 2.8, sell the t5.  I'm just worried about getting a title for it.  It's not salvaged, but i still don't know how to get the info for a title.  What do you guys think?

Up here in the NorthEast turbo motors are going for around $400.00 and up from a bone yard. Less exspensive deals are out there but hard to find.
I bought my wagon off E-Bay for $185.00 and have some major rust removal to do.  
If you have can do most of the work yourself and enjoy the challenge of assembling a car someone else took apart, then, go for it.

Check with your Department of Motor Vehicles about the title. I bought my wagon without a title. In New Hampshire its pretty easy. The police or a licensed car dealer runs the VIN and confirms the car is not stolen. They fill out a small form and sign it. If the VIN comes back clean then after the form is signed the car can be registered. I dont think I get a new title. The registration takes its place.
New hampshire doesnt require a title after a car is 15 years old.
