Get more with a SBF.
429 will be about 200 lbs more than a 302.

Trans will also be more weight for the 429, over one for a SBF.

Yes. Right now the plan is tentative two gear trans. I had the same exact car with a different color scheme in high school 25 years ago. That one had the 302 in it. This time I'm going even bigger n meaner looking.

if the car is not a rust bucket don’t cut it up  ,they do make a stroked 460 small block that is all aluminum turn key , but you still have to stuff it in there , if the floors are rusted out it could be easy to just install a pro chassis, I just made up my mind on my cruiser wagon on what engine to install , 3.5 ecoboost V6 , stock in the new ford Raptor it’s 450 HP , just about the same weight as the 2.3 you took out , QuickTime makes a bellhousing that will fit the light C4 or others , or even the 3.7 , same size but no turbos , 305 HP 30 plus MPG in a mustang , still would end up a 12 second car , good luck but don’t cut up a good pinto , they are getting scarce

You're correct. It took me a very long time to find this one. I see the wagons quite a bit but not the runabout style at all where I'm at. It only has one dime size hole under the rear quarter and some small surface issues. Had lichens growing on it. The interrior and floor pans are all solid and the original red color. Even the dash displays and center console look great. Top of dash is Sun worn and cracked. All the interior seats carpet and seatbelts had to be removed and destroyed. Too many mice and rodent issues to clean up. Once the ick was cleaned out its a very good shell.

Good find , good thing they have carpet still made for them , look at the side I see tinted windows , so the car has A/C , easy to get working , all mine are ice cold , also I find cars with  A/C the floors are good , non a/c have the windows down all the time and even in the rain , you got the aluminum bumpers, very lite , plus on that , what state are you in , most pintos are far away from Mississippi, later Blaine

No sorry that was just the angle that day. No window tint. It does have the factory sunroof and was surprised it didnt leak. I'm in Montana so that made it more likely to be ran in cold weather. My original pinto was a Michigan car. A white and orange factory paint job. Thats what I was looking for but this red one was pretty close. The 429 was not my first choice to go in it but I'm a tad superstitious so having the 429 drop in my lap the same day I got permission to drag the pinto out of the field it had been left in since 1993 I took that as a sign. I havent registered it yet but the title is one owner from 1979. Took 18 hours to drive down to get the title. It was her high school driver in the late 70s early 80s. Very rare to find that. I'm a fed ex ground driver though so I get to go into all the ranches and farms around here. Lots of hidden goodies!
