Rolls RoyCe or Caddy front end kit
« on: November 18, 2014, 12:34:31 AM »
What was the name of that hideous front end and rear kit that made the pinto look like a Rolls or Caddy. Anyone have a pic of one or have a car with the kit for sale. (Nooooo not for my pinturbo)

I do remember it,  It was a copy of a Lincoln Continental , even had a rear trunk lid that looked like the Mark 3 continental , I have to look through my old photos , I know I have a picture of one , girl I dated back then brought it from the dealer ( I was a dealer installed kit) and I have the old photo when it was still in the showroom, will look and see if I can find it, Later Blaine in Mississippi

Here is one found by searching images.  Not sure if this is the original kit or somebody's copy.  It also looks to be on a earlier model Pinto than the indicated 1979.

Yep, that is the one , they made that kit for years, found the photo I was looking for last night , it was on a 73 pinto , it was still in the show room , will scan and post it on my Gallery photos tonight , for what I remember about the kit it was suppose to mimic  a Lincoln mark three, good find oldkayaker

For whatever it is worth, the car in the photo is a 1974, or at least has a '74 body.  The lettering on the trunk lid identifies it as a MINIMARKV.  Production of the Mark V was 1977-79 so it seems reasonable to assume that the kit was manufactured around that era, if it's an original kit; which it appears to be.

There was a Rolls-Royce kit made to fit VW Beetles around the same time which, when combined with a nice two-tone paint scheme, looked much better than this pseudo-Lincoln Pinto.  It was designed to mimic the style of the RR Silver Cloud series.
