Please Help!!! R13 Whitewalls...do they exist anymore?
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:57:19 PM »
I'm almost done fixing up my Squire, but I have one big problem: I can't seem to find any R13 whitewalls.   I've tried searching high and low on the Internet an don this site, to no avail.   Anyone had any luck?  I'd settle for raised letters too.

According to my '73 Pinto Wagon brochure, the Pinto Squire had an option for whitewalls and an option for raised white letters.

I want my baby to look as stock as possible.

Any leads would be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance.

I've taken a white paint pen and painted in letters on a tire just to give that raised white lettering look.  http://classicwhitewalltires.com/dbiifirestone  this is one site I found

When I replaced a couple of Ruby's tires earlier this year I asked the salesman at Discount Tire about whitewall tires and he said they can get them, but they're special order. Seems that there's one tire manufacturer that has the whitewall-making equipment, so the tires are pricey. The Discount Tire guy quoted me around $120 for ONE Pinto-sized whitewall tire.  :surprised:
One can never have too many Pintos!

I got my tires over the internet from a tire place in Ohio, I can't find the name though. They are whitewalls, too and were 135 dollars a pair with shipping. I found the company through EBAY. NO ONE in my area sells 13 inch tires!

Once again, this website comes through!   I ordered the ones above recommended by Pinturbo http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=135&Cookie=nextag&details=Ordern&typ=D-105274&ranzahl=4&nichtweiter=1 .   I chose them, because they look the most like the OEM's.

Before anyone else orders, you might want to wait.  I'll do a post with how they look and the quality.

Those appear to be the exact ones I bought, and about the same price. Mine are Ok so far, but I only have abot 400 miles on them now.
