That's what I wanna do to my dam car. I have had it!!! This dam car has more rust than my 85 Omni that had no floor because of rust! I have had it & am at the end of my rope with it! I don't have the tools to fix it right, place to fix it at, skills to fix it, or friends that know how to fix it. I have already had the fire department out here for one car fire but if this one burns I won't stop it!

Yeah, but they are all not in my area. This car hates me & has never wanted to live so it's about time I listen to it & put it out of my misery. I have had nothing but problems with it. At least the junked 78 had good floors. Then again that is because the previous owner welded in new metal but I can't weld.

Can't help you on your windshield issue that you are having but as far as the floors go. Fiberglass is your friend! :D We use MarGlas, which is kind of like bondo but has fiberglass in it, for smaller holes. Then for the bigger stuff we use regular fiberglass and rosin. Really easy to do. Just use some duct tape under the floor and then lay the fiberglass sheet on top of the floor. Mix the rosin and hardner and pour it on top of the sheet. Let it dry, paint, and you have a solid floor again. Yah it's not the "correct" way to do it, but for us, it is the way "we" can do it. We're not welders either.
OH, for really big hole areas, you can tape cardboard to the bottom of the car and then put the fiberglass on top. Your just trying to keep the fiberglass on top and not let it sink to far down toward the bottom.

I know I'm using your arch enemy for an example, but I havn't had to do this to any of my Pintos! :D
Oh, and as far as welding the windshield area, we are going to have to tackle a rusty windshield area in my Westy. We will be using MarGlas to do that job as well. Remember, we have no welding skills! :D

Matt, you're probably tired of reading this, but I advise patience. Harold II is an old lady and a veteran of back-east winters. When you get frustrated with her, just walk away and work on something else. Believe me, I've been there in the car frustration department- I told my car(s) things I didn't mean. You should've seen what a mess I was when I was on my way to Denver last year and a throttle connector decided to pop out. I hadn't even gotten out of Parker, AZ after leaving Fred and Joy's Pintoland when the d@mn thing disengaged. You need three yes THREE(!) hands to put the stupid clip back in and the patience of a saint- which is not what I have a lot of. By the time Fred came to my rescue I was ready to quit the Stampede, send poor Ruby to the junkyard and to never act on my dreams again. With Fred's magic of knowing what would work and a small hose clamp Ruby and I were back on the road.
What I'm trying to say (again) is: Don't give up on Harold II just yet. She knows you favor GMs so she has a lil' grudge. Give her some TLC and I'll bet she'll come to life again! ;D

Hang in there, Matt. I just put a new battery tray in my car, a half hour job-it ended up taking most of the afternoon trying to loosen the rusted bolts which are also hard to get at. I got it though! Like it was said, walk away for a while and things get better.

Thanks guys, I needed that. Yesterday in general was absolutely the worst day I have had in a long time and that was even before I found out about the bad seal & rust. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Just so fed up with everything & the car made it worse. Now I'm gonna have to get a new seal so I can fix the leak & in addition get a new headliner as the one has long since tore. This car is eating what little money I have & it is driving me nuts. Especially since I planned on fixing the turbocharger on my Dodge Omni GLHT.

I can tell you one thing for sure... If I can find a cheap enough Pinto that has no rust underneath & it is close enough to me then this one is gone. I will gut the crap out of her & have the rusty shell go to the junkyard.
