That is about the last time I had the Pinto out. I decided the other night to fire it up and see what happens. I managed to find some rear Mickey tires and put them on. Also I fixed the stereo and many huge rattles. The car started but then would not restart luckily I was at work yesterday and they had a spare battery. It seemed to fix the problem. The funny thing is I was going to work in it at 6 AM and had 3 people comment on the car. I have 2 67 fairlanes and do not get that many comments in the middle of the day. I decided with the dogs help to get the car running better because from sitting it has some issues. I think I now have it running pretty good. I may even take it to a local show instead of the fairlanes. It actually felt good to drive it I even took my youngest daughter for a cruise tonight with no problems. I think she had fun.

Thanks for the replies guys I am glad it is out and running too. My problem is the dog thinks she owns it. However when I go into the store I am 99 percent sure the car will still be there when I come out.

That's awesome to hear you have been out enjoying the Pinto again!
I still remember it being called "the winter beater" Lol :-)

It is  good to hear from you on here. Sometimes while working on that car it was called other things.  Reading your post has reminded me of how long I have had that car. We were much younger then and I hope I am not responsible for giving you the Pinto fever..

Well you are at least partially responsible :-) That was fun times back then. I think you've had the Pinto for about 30 years now?

I've had that happen less than once a year with my '68 Mustang since I got it on the road in '05.

I get at least one comment on the Pinto every time I drive it.
'72 Runabout - 2.3T, T5, MegaSquirt-II, 8", 5-lugs, big brakes.
'68 Mustang - Built roller 302, Toploader, 9", etc.

It is kinda funny my Pinto is far from a show car but gets the attention.

Ummm Sorry about that I will send you some tylenol to help with the fever and headaches. You are pretty close on how long I had the Pinto I cant believe I managed to keep it even through the move down here. Here is a picture of my oldest daughter wanting a race she is 18 now and just started college.
