Title: Pinto car models
Post by: r4pinto on November 30, 2014, 09:49:48 AM
So I've been thinking.. I know, very dangerous. They seem to have quite a few different Pinto models out there on ebay & whatnot but one thing I haven't seen is a 1979 or 1980 Pinto model... The kits that is. Did they ever make such a model? Been wondering that since I have a 1980 & would be cool to have a model to go with it, like I planned with my 77.

Hey Matt, there is only one kit that I know of and it's the MPC Pinto Pony Express. http://www.rocketfin.com/model_museum/images/ford_pinto.jpg (http://www.rocketfin.com/model_museum/images/ford_pinto.jpg)

That's cool - I didn't even know one existed!  Another thing you might look into is resin models.  Many times they offer models of cars that just weren't quite as popular.  Over the past ten years I've purchased resin model kits of a '79 Lincoln Town Car, a '79 Continental Mark V, and a '95 Lincoln Mark VIII from various online sellers; none of which were ever offered as mainline plastic model kits.  They are a bit pricier and harder to work with, but often offer vehicles you just can't get anywhere else.  It might be worth a shot.
