Paradoxical Platitudes for Pinto People
« on: August 28, 2017, 06:24:33 PM »
Hmm...
The Pinto was launched September 11th 1970... A P car in the 9th month of the year ???
Pintos are a vehicle that was to address the import onslaught, and was revised a few times in its production..
Pintos were and are a performance pony to all forms of motorsports, the 2.0L did its duty in many racing venues...
What could have been possible if the Pinto had Dominated in T/A U-2 racing? IMSA RS?  A V8 version instead of the MII for AAGT racing?
Ahh, there's more to be had, the history has yet to be written, Soooo, Let's get to it!  8)

Pintosopher , rolling in the Hay, looking for the Green , and munching oats ;D

Looks to me like aerodynamics are not a concern to the builder of that Pinto.

Does not the view of many in the herd inspire you to Stampede? Think about it...

I'm ready to stampede after looking at those pictures. I can only go as far as the garage, but that's a start.

I keep reading about a factory race Corvette that's made out carbon fiber. Guess GM can afford it. For the list 15 years or so, those Corvette's have been cleaning up in pro road racing. Even after JR had his wiped out with a very big fire.

I see they have added 2 more cam towers which is what every 2.0L needs if it is to be raced. I have checked old used 2.0L camshafts and all of them were bent in the middle as much as .010 of an inch. The middle cam tower with a cam of over .600 lift is prone to break away from the head. But then again not many people are going to use such a cam.

This head is not classified for anything in SCCA except modified classes in Solo & GCR(Super Production? )road racing rules. But as a Twin cam head for the Pinto EAO block, the possibilities are endless if you add all the short block goodies (Race built to over 300 N/A HP@ 9000 rpm) Irish Hill climb champ (now deceased RIP) Simon McKinley and his Mk2 escort videos are epic for this Motor sounds!

Howling good times when the stacks ;) are Honking!

Just watched him race on u-tube. What a master of the tail out driving. Engine sounded like it was at 10,000 rpm. What a driver. Did he die in a race car? Looked like he was a very nice family man. RIP.

As fast as he was in the Escort I can't picture how fast he would have been in an open wheel car as shown on U-tube. A truly great driver and a very big lost to mankind. RIP, you were the best.

Only thing I have noticed is the hood has been gutted of all reinforcement around the edges. I'm sure that's why it requires 3 hood pins in the front. But the chrome finish? Who knows.

Love the 88 car! It looks like an old NASCAR Grand National. A lowered Pinto with a set of fatties sure makes a good looking race car!

Pintosopher, is that Kyle Busch in your Pinto? I don't see his can of NOS!

Sorry, I couldn't resist!
