I just had a totally whacked out idea
« on: October 15, 2011, 02:04:07 PM »
Was posting (again) looking for an extremely cheap Pinto on the wanted section.

Then, while thinking of it stripped I had a picture flash in my head.

How about a gasser style Pinto? You know, straight axle, blower thru hood, etc. yes, a Pinto really isn't in the right era for that, but still, why not?

Just a thought. Back to work for me.

I say do what yah want. Me personally ill never have anything to do with a gasser except maybe hauling one to the crusher to watch it get smashed for fun. LOL Ive already done the same thing to a Mini Truck with airride cause i cant stand them either. LOL

I wouldn't mind an Anglia gasser myself. Almost bought a couple over the years. I was done with mini trucks myself back in the early 90's but my crew cab dually is dropped 9" up front & 13" in the rear.

Just picture mine with the front end in the air and a skinny set of motorcycle tires up front.  I'd be closing my eyes more than I do now.

you'd need to radius the rear wheel wells and have the rear tires sticking out, but that would be it. :-)

could probably charge admission for rides.

A Pinto Gasser?  Yes!  One Request: Drive it down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and do some bumps and grinds.   Now THAT will get some attention!

A Pinto gasser would be really kool. If my Squire wasn't in such good condition I might do that...more for show than go.

My buddy had a blown '41 Willys Gasser that he sold for a fortune & now has a vintage '63 Comet Gasser with Fenton wheels & radiused rear wheelwells & another friend has a '62 Comet that is being turned into a Gasser.

If I was game I'd have plenty of help......

This might work but I recomend finding a rusted out car and I think it would have to be a runabout cause they have all that glass in the back Other than that big ole cleveland under the hood big gasser slots a "homemade" sunroof and two econoline buckets too boot and you got yourself a geeny Ine gassermobilesi r! But then again we could always just drive the thing
