new to me 1980 Pinto
« on: January 11, 2016, 04:17:47 PM »
Hey everyone, bought an 80 the other day for 400 bucks. I acquired it from a collector that had spent a good amount of money on the car over the last year and just decided to cut his losses. It has no carpet and quiet a few spots of rust but that's fine with me. I love 80s ford's and had a 1980 fox body 351 swap mustang I did myself up until a year ago. The car just has a few issues I was looking for maybe some help with and to know if they were regular issues.

When the car warms up it idles high then really low then high..etc. the carb was just rebuilt so I'm think vacuum lines? Is there anything else I should be looking at for? The auto choke doesn't seen to work very well if at all. As well to activate the auto choke is it 2 pumps or 1?

I have no driving lights, turn signals, and as of today the wipers and heater fan have now stopped working. I'm gonna go into town tonight and get some fuses and I'm hoping that's it.

I'm sure I can find more answers once I start looking  through the forum but I figured I'd post here first.
