Well got some progress today, took one of my spare third member from a rear end and cleaned it up , along with the axles , installing new bearings there also along with the seals ,  bead blasted and painted up the unit and installed the pinnion nose bearing in the case , mounted the ring gear to theposi unit with new bolts , a dab of lock tight on each and torque to 60LBS , droped the carrier into place and and install caps , they also torque to 60 also , would have done more but forgot the pinnion shims at home so guess it will have to wait

got it all together ,  installed new pinnion bearings and a new crush sleave , which is a must for correct pinnion preload , which 10 to 14 inch pounds to turn the pinnion , sorry for fuzzy photo there , but you get the idea ,

after I got the pinnion tourqe done with I reinstalled the carrrer and shimed the pinnion gear to have the right gear contact , the pattern will end up like this when you have the back lash right and the right shim in place , after I recheck all the bolts for correct tourqe ,  the five pinnion bolts (3/8 ) 45 ft lbs ,  carrer bearing caps 60 ft lbs ,  the ring gear also 60 lbs ,  now all complete ,  next I will post changing of the axle bearings ,  next project is assmbling a cust 520 cubic inch 6 cylinder aircraft engine ,
