Thanks to fellow PCCA member Robert who noticed the posting on the front page and tipped me off, my Pinto will be on a 48 Hours Mystery episode. It films this Saturday, with multiple exterior and driving shots by the CBS News crew. Thanks also to PCCA for posting the notice.
They were looking for an early model yellow wagon with wood paneling (aka Yellow Squire). Well...who would have ever thought...that's an exact description of mine.
I'm not in town, so I won't be watching the filming, and yes...they have bought plenty of "agreed value" insurance. The car will be inspected before and after the shoot in writing, so I feel I'm as safe as I can be under the circumstances.
I will post again once I know the date of the show.
Thanks again, Robert!

Congratulation s! It's a shame you can't be around for the filming... that would be a really neat experience!

Fantasmic!! Glad you could fill the need...

I think the real question here is, "Where were you on that day in 1985?" ;D

Shoot came off without a hitch! Show airs in the Fall. I will re-post once the scheduled date is announced.

All good things must come to an end...my "TV Star" Pinto Squire will be going up on EBAY soon. It's one of the top two Squires I've ever seen...no rust, no nicks, perfect engine, tranny, woodgrain (new), interior. Even the original dash is uncracked, though I did buy a new "shell" one to cover the original.
If you want a like-new loaded Pinto Squire with just over 60K original miles, this is your chance. Cars don't come along like this very often. In fact, I don't recall seeing one for years. The only other Squire I've seen that was close went for $12,100 on EBAY.
I have $10,000 invested in this one, right down to the new whitewalls. Make me an offer...
In the meantime, here's the show:
