Well after spending all winter in Az., I finally got back to working on my wagon. I had pulled the 2.3l out of the '86 Ranger last fall and installed it in the wagon. Now I am getting the wiring in place to hook up the EFI. I cut an oblong hole in the rear of the fender well to pass the wires thru for the box as there was a hole in the panel where the battery sits. Need to mount that on side of kick panel. The wheel well panel will cover that entry up OK and there's plenty of wire to reach everything. Yesterday I ended up buying an '88 turbo coupe from a friend in town here for $150.00. Only thing missing looks like is the radiator. Body is banged up but I have lots of parts to work with now. So that brings up the idea of putting the 2.3L turbo and 5 speed into my wagon now. As the air horn from the Ranger is hitting the hood, I think I will try the turbo air horn as it looks to be lower profile. Will check out the compression and fitness of the turbo motor and think about a swap. Will get the EFI hooked up first and get this other motor running first. Lots of work to do. Later.

Is it possible to use the hydraulic clutch system from the turbo coupe in the pinto? I'm getting a lesson on wiring from this 86 ranger EFI 4 banger. The ranger also has hydraulic clutch, but I have the old 4 speed in now. Thought about using the 5 speed from the Ranger but scrapped that idea. Thanks for the info.

Russ Osborne, Thanks for the comeback. I stay in Apache Junction usually 7 months so I have to cram in work on this Pinto when I get home. I think I will use some of the parts off of the TC for now, bucket seats and other parts I can make work. I would like to install the T-5 trans in this critter also but time and a little research will tell.
