72 front springs
« on: April 13, 2012, 06:32:38 AM »
Thought I'd show why I'm changing the front springs in my car.
Red ones came out of it.
Black ones are the new Mustang ll V8 with A/C springs.
Looks like what the guy did was cut the springs to lower the car. Cut too much then put a full circle rubber & two twist in rubbers, in each side, to lift it back up.
Rubbers were pounding out & one twist one gone.

I also wanted to get the car back up to (about) stock hieght. May not look as "cool", but really needed more ground clearance.
Keep in mind a BOSS 302 & S-T-10 are heavy !

Got mine from: http://www.standens.com/home.html

With shipping it came to $124.25 CDN

I got the one for a Mustang ll with V8 and A/C.
Wanted the heavy ones, as a BOSS 302 weighs more than a 302w.
You can get them for non A/C as well.

Looks like my part number is: 1   RC   8556

Mine came powder coated.

Not sure about your springs, but some pintos have the 5 coil,  they are rated more lbs per in. than the 8 coils.    some people use them for racing
