Looking For The Owner Of....
« on: October 20, 2011, 09:27:21 PM »

The yellow Pinto on the right hand side of this picture, the one with the wood down the side.

I came across your car at the Carlisle 40th Anniversary show, and I couldn't help but fall in love with it. Would love some details on the car!

Thanks!

Yep Yep! I didn't know there were any left on the road!

I know of one at a Junk yard about 25 miles from here. A 76 model with just about every option minus the adjustable seat and a sunroof. Has a 2.6l V6 w/Automatic transmission and A/C. Deluxe interior with defog rear glass hatch and had aluminum wheels when it was brought in years before I found it. Avacado green with wood grain, matching interior, even had the dimmer mirror I have a hard time finding to replace mine with!

Was considering pulling it out of the yard for restoration (they want like $450 or something for it, cheap), but it has another avacado green 74 trunk model on top of it and the roof would need replaced. :( Not to mention, finding replacement wood grain trim would be a PITA.

FYI woodgrain replacement that looks 100% authentic is available from 3M.   Mine has it.  There's also a shop in LA that will completely redo woodgrain and trim...not cheap though.

Another route to go would be paint / airbrush.

I got the pleasure to see this car up close. Not a single piece of wood on it. The time and effort put into it was absolutely amazing.
