Hey all, I'm in search of a Pinto. I would prefer a 72-73 or a 79-80 but would consider a good specimen of the other years. doesn't have to be perfect, just not banged up. let me know if any one knows of any... thanks.

Way up in Alaska?
I need one in Idaho as a roller for a mini-stock :( Can't find one...
-
Not too many people on here willing to give up their Pinto to be raced on a dirt track. Ranks right up there with a demo derby.

Mini-stock runs on asphalt :) But I understand, but I need to race this year bad!!!! Maverick for drag racing and a Pinto or Fox Body for the roundie rounds :)
-
go with an early 80's fox body mustang....!

Got a 72 pinto wagon in Mesa Arizona running and driving for 1500 on Craigslist
-
I really would rather have a hatch or trunk model but I'll check it out.
-
is that the silver one with the big dent ?
-
Yes it is
-
Mmmm, don't know if I could get past that dent...
-
He's come down about $800 to $1000 that I know of. Haven't seen it in person, but it has been on craigslist probably at least 10 months that I know of.
Thinking he needs to come down a bit more but it might be worth checking out in person. Maybe it looks better in person?
A couple of months ago there were several decent looking ones, either they sold fast or the sellers gave up. Second the thought of putting a wanted ad on there.
Russ

Are you posting a picture and what did you find?

I did some "back reading" here and want to add just one comment. I visit a lot of 70's and 80's nostalgia sites on the web, and Pintos ALWAYS come up - somehow - as a "horrible, horrible vehicle that killed people". "Twelve worst cars of all time". "Twenty cars that should have never been made". "Blah Blah Blah". In EVERY case, and where I can - I dole out the facts, because the MAJORITY of people out there associate Pintos and death like peanut butter and chocolate.
And WHY is it like this? Because the Pinto was the FIRST car to gain such notoriety in the American press - that's why. And myths die HARD - unless someone is unwilling to unlearn incorrect facts. As a past and present Pinto owner, I will NEVER be ashamed of these cars, in fact I always encourage people - "go ahead and laugh" - and then tell them the facts. I'll be the one laughing when I walk away with a trophy one day for "most unique restored" or "crowd favorite", because you JUST DON'T SEE THESE CARS OFTEN. Be a proud owner. You'll catch someone's eye LONG before the 50 millionth Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, or Challenger will. I guarantee it.
Oh, and yes - let me roll into your 2015 Camaro and watch what my SOLID STEEL BUMPERS will do to your tin can. :)

I love my Pinto. When I got my first I turned down a 65 Mustang and a older model Corvette ( yes I might regret that one a little) that my dad kept telling me would be worth something in the future. There was no way I would give up the Medium Yellow 73 Runabout on the Ford parking lot. Oh course that's when life was simple and you could go to the drive in at 2.00 a car load and I could put as many as 6 -8 till we could just get in them sit outside on the hatchback and watch. It was the greatest car I ever owned. When I went off to college my dad bought me a 76 Monte Carlo. I never got attached to it. While I was away my mother gave my Pinto to a family that needed a car without telling me. My heart was sick and I cried for weeks. I have had several cars of high end quality but nothing compared to the day I found on 1972 on this web site. I have it being restored and will post pictures. I can only say I adore this car and value it above all the rest and will never , ever part with it again. Anyone can drive a mustang but not everyone has a Pinto. So all you Pinto drivers you rock. 😄

I'm not particularly brand loyal, but I do have some favorites and I won't own a gm. My preferences are based more on just models that I like, not just all this brand or all that brand. I like odd ball cars, and most manufacturers have a few. I think the japanese call it wabi-sabi. The appreciation of inherent flaws. I seem to be drawn to the imperfect.
