Kit Car That Used Pinto Doors
« on: February 08, 2014, 07:50:01 PM »
Years ago I remember reading an article about a kit car that used Pinto doors.  I mentioned it here a time or two, but no one ever knew what it was.

Turns out the car is called a Fierro 600. It is not to be confused with a Pontiac Fiero.  Anyway, below is a link to Google images. You can choose what image you prefer from there. The doors are Pinto for sure, but look different without a drip edge above them. I think they are a good choice for this "sporting" car. Those who are familiar with the Vega will also recognize the rear hatch too.

Pretty dang resourceful to be able to include those components in a totally restyled car like that.

That's really freaking' cool.  13 made according to one source.

Major problem, though.  Doesn't look like there's enough room to swap a 2.3l in there with the typical "sandrail" adapter.

Great find Wittsend!   ;D

Yea, I can just imaging a Pinto guy / Vega guy feud arguing if the doors or the hatch "make" the car.  LOL
