The only two things I hear when driving my 72
« on: September 12, 2019, 10:27:12 PM »
Hello to you wonderful believers,
Just thought I would share an interesting thing that keeps happening to me.
Whenever I get the rare chance to drive my Pinto I seem to be approached by only two different types of individuals, the first are the ones that pass you while driving, slow down and give thumbs up, positive comments and tell you about the Pintos either they have had or their parent, aunts, uncles etc.have had. It really seems to make their day,
The other would be the ones who quip “ don’t get rear ended”. Funny thing , I was dropping my 17 year old off at school, his friend said... cool car, “ don’t get rear ended”
He’s 17! How would he know???I guess that makes three types. :D

Well, it is kind of hard to to not have "Fire" and "Pinto" in the same sentence.

I get a lot of the same comments too. When the topic of getting rear-ended comes up, I just say it's too fast for that.  ;)

I go to half a dozen car shows per year. I have a poster that includes the false fire history. People tell me I am wrong. Why ruin a good story with the truth?

Yea, I point out that my turbo motor isn't a performance enhancement..., but a safety device.
