78 - hand brake button broken
« on: March 17, 2015, 05:59:25 PM »
I have noticed cracks in my hand brake button for about a year now. Today I applied the brake and the ratcheting popped the broke half of the button out the end of the handle!

I remember someone bringing this up a few years back, but I can't seem to find it via the search function.

Is there a repair to this outside of completely replacing the handle assembly? I could just JB Weld it all back together, but I'd much rather have more of a "complete" repair/replacement. I have two handles in my parts inventory, but neither of them are all black.

Could you use one off of one of the other handles you have?

Not to change the subject but i am looking for a chrome e brake lever assembly if it is not longer than 10 inches.  If one of yours is for sale let me know.

I will measure it out and see. I pulled it from a car at the junk yard with intent to keep it on hand if anyone ever needed it....I have so many of those kinds of parts in there. lol
