has anyone tried to convert a hatchback into a trunk ?
-
Dave that is a lot of sheet metal you haft to deal with. Fred :)

I don't know if the 1979 hatch dimentions are the same but you might try a 1971 half hatch. It gives you the look of a trunk model without losing the hatchback access. It would be WAY less hassle than rebuilding the whole rear section.

Looks like it's time to buy another Pinto...(wink wink nudge nudge). ;D

soo... who has a small window hatch they want to get rid of?
-
Good luck finding one, It took me 2 years to find a rusty one... there is a Fiberglass company that makes a small window hatch out of glass...

One thing for sure. The fiberglass hatch would cut down on labor.
