Title: I'm in LOVE (again LOL) awesome car for sale...
Post by: Reeves1 on December 31, 2017, 07:33:17 AM
Guy is selling (asking) 24k. Well worth every penny as far as I am concerned !
Why selling you ask... says : born 1949
So I understand. Same reason I've been trying to sell my white car.
He is in Youngsville Louisiana. On FB in the V8 Pinto page.

Do you really want a Pinto without outside door handles or a heater? I have never seen a Pinto including VERY low mileage ones worth 24K.

By the time it's all said and done, I'll probably have that much in my orange '74 Runabout - and it looks exactly the same as the one I bought new for $2900!  (The sticker price was $3200, but I got a discount for buying straight out without a trade.)  Of course, I don't think I would knowingly go into one at $24,000 - mine just sort of worked out that way! lol

Electric.

Blue car is likely getting one as well.
In Canada you need a defroster to pass inspection.

Tons of custom work in that car & the pearl paint really makes it pop !

As for price, the engine in my white car is a 16k engine.....alo ne !

Look on the Ford Racing site & most crate engines (worth having) are in the 14k + range......and that is USD. Add at least 30% for CDN !

Good paint jobs now up to and over 10k......

My Pinto has a spending governor on it. $850 to buy, $425 to ship = $1,275. Turbo Coupe parts donor = Free. This, that and the other = $300. Still have about $425 left on the $2,000 limiter setting. I have similar limiters on my other cars. My running '73 Plymouth is in the $1,500 range and the '64 Studebaker Daytona about $1,700 range.  My non running Corvair wagon was free as was my Datsun 510 and has about $600 in it.  My '63 Rambler American (not now running) was $300 and maybe have $300 more in it. The budget tipper was my '65 Sunbeam Tiger at $5,100 and now is approaching $,6000.  I'm in the $10,000 range for all my cars and can't say I'm tempted to sell all but one to make the remaining car pretty.

For me, I prefer volume over extremely nice builds. If I had $100,000 I'd probably have 50/$2,000 cars instead of 4 really nice Pinto's. But again, that it just me.

A absolute mint '74 squire wagon recently sold for $24K in a Mecum auction. The crowd couldn't believe it, but had all the options available for that model year.. It will probably be in a Period movie soon...  :) Check out the image in Classic Motorsports magazine.. 8)
