Title: Help a new Pinto guy
Post by: musclecar on August 24, 2014, 08:06:01 AM
Hope someone can help
I am a pretty serious collector of some pretty cool muscle cars but have found myself seeking some cool old "not so fast" cars. Hate to say but really I like nerd cars very much and consider Pintos a nerd car!! I drive my cars so it needs to drive (freak out locals when I drive around a very low mileage Superbird!).

VERY serious buyer for extra nice cars so no major restoration projects. Low mile original, restored, or pretty darn close.
Ford Pinto with great interiors mostly like the orange or even better TANGERINE
Cruising Wagon with same options
Bobcats will do too.

might consider others colors just need them to be bright, cool , and very nice.
Will even pays finders fee for the correct car and deal.

Let me know

May I ask why you consider a Pinto a nerd car?

Good question about the nerd comment (did not mean to offend). I guess all my cars in my collection have 350HP or more make me think of a Pinto as a nerd car....and that is what I thought when they came out. With that being said i have always liked them  ;D

Hope I can find a couple of tangerine nice highly optioned examples so I can find out!!

thanks

Rob

I think a nerd car is a car a nerd drives.  A Honda Civic would fall into that category.  Those guys think they are cool, but NOT.

I think nerd cars are typically "practical" cars because stereotypical nerds don't care what they drive as long as it gets them from A to B. Pintos fall into that category because for decades no one else would admit to owning one, driving one, or even liking them.

Now it seems like nearly everyone I talk to either liked them and/or knew somebody who drove one.

I wouldn't mind my own Sport wheel like that with black spokes. I have one, but it's in bad shape and has no horn contacts.
