Hello & FYI
« on: August 16, 2004, 08:37:38 PM »
Hello Fellow Pinto Enthusiatists, I just wanted to introduce myself and ask a much needed answered question. My name is kevin and I live in Eastern PA. I own a 1978 Pinto Sedan. It's been a part of me for almost 30 years. About 5 years ago I made a tough decision to park it. The car failed inspection, needed major floor work. I repaired the floor and prepared to freshen the entire car up. Well, it's been sitting for 5 years. It was forced out of the garage, to free up storage space for household & work items. Our house burned two years ago and some stuff needed a new home. I am looking to see if anyone would be interested in her? When she was running, she ran excellent. She is a mess. She is completely stripped down.. fenders off, interior removed. I have all the parts to put her back together, the parts removed plus many new & oem parts. Now I have asked the first question, anyone interested? 2nd is, I am asking $3,000 for everything. Now all of you are probably thinking I am crazy. Truth is, I am ! I will be posting several pics of her sometime in the near future. I have also been thinking about parting her out and selling her on ebay. Any comments or complaints? Let me know. I am in a very tough spot.

Hello, and welcome to the board!

We're always interested in the preservation of a Pinto around here, and there may be someone who is willing to drop 3K on a 1:1 scale model (which is what a car in pieces is :), no offense).

I hope for your sake you can find her a new home and all parties will be happy.

However, if you do not, you will probably have better luck getting decent prices for parts *here* than on evilBay. And with the Pinto-specific group here, there are plenty of chances you'll get the parts sold *right away* instead of waiting for days. Plus, you will probably come closer to making what you feel the parts are worth here than on eBay.

Of course, your pics are much anticipated and details such as engine/tranny/rear end, color, condition of interior pieces, etc. are important, too. (We're a bit vampirish around here...say you have an uncracked dash pad or steering wheel and you'll be deluged with emails!)

BTW: If you have an uncracked dash pad and/or an uncracked steering wheel, and you decide to part her out, I want to be first in line....

Seriously.

:)
I left my Pinto in front of my house last night. This morning there were two more left with it.
