Title: heater pipes

The heater hose pipes that follow the engine and change the hose size from 3/4 to 5/8 do they have a purpose? I had to replace mine with a hose as the one was rusted through.

I think it was mainly to keep rubber hose lengths short.

Also saved on making formed hoses.
