Found something under the seat
« on: November 27, 2011, 06:40:34 PM »
I was checking the driver's seat cushion, and reached under to feel how the fabric was attached. My hand rubbed across something and I heard a kind of magical sound. In all my Fords, I have never found a build sheet, but I'm well aware of where they were often hidden. That magical sound was what sounded like rustling paper. I carefully removed it and all in all it's in decent shape. Does anyone have a list if the codes?

I have a couple decoders (thanks to the Ford Shop Manuals) for '73-'75. What do you need? :)
One can never have too many Pintos!

More a matter of curiosity. I'm not talking about decoding the VIN, but the option codes on the build sheet.

Here it is just for giggles. I didn't know if there was a database (or list) of option codes. I've built decoders for other makes and even boat manufacturers. Don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already done it. :o

I found what was left of a build sheet stuck to the undercoat in my spare tire well and another ratty one stuffed in the rear pass fender well just in front of the side marker light but nothing in the front or rear seats of my San Jose built 71.

I have a build sheet for one of the 1980 Postal Pintos I used to own, I wish I had one for my Sedandelivery!

If those that found theirs can scan and post it here with a description of their known options/equipment, it'd be real easy to build a decoder.
So for mine:
1974 wagon
2.0 4 speed (originally)
saddle interior and exterior
frt disc, rear drum
am radio
bumper guards
heater, no air
no p/s
